Raymond A. Butcher, 74, of Powhatan, born in Cucumber, W. Va., passed away March 16, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia Butcher; daughters, Angela Breeding (Jerry), Phoebe Wright (Michael); granddaughters, Michaela Speas (Jon), Mariah Wright and many devoted friends. Ray was a retired Engineer with the Virginia State Police for 31 years, a Vietnam Army veteran, Past Master of the Chesterfield Masonic Lodge #161, a member of Powhatan Historical Society, Master gardener that loved Irises, Volunteered for AARP as a tax counselor for ten years. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Passion Community Church, 4480 Anderson Hwy., Powhatan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Powhatan Vol. Fire Dept. or Powhatan Vol. Rescue Squad. Online condolences may be made at bennettbardenfh.com
