Rebecca Mowdy

Rebecca "Becky" Stewart Mowdy, 65, of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away on December 15, 2025. Becky was born on May 14, 1960 in Richmond, Virginia to the late William L. Murray and Barbara B. Murray. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Kerry Lee Mowdy; daughter, Shannon S. Wandless (Tim); Son, Stephen W. Stewart (Jessica); grandchildren, Micheala, Jordan, Lakyn, and Revan; sisters, Robin Hottinger (Randy) and Carol Marshall; Brother in law, Robert M. Stewart; Nephews, Jan-Michael Stainback & Stephen L. Williams; Niece, Alexis M. Marshall. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and Nani/Nini, and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She worked as an administrator assistant for the department of corrections for 24 years and was 2 months away from retirement. Becky enjoyed spending time with her family and friends during her free time. Faith was the foundation of Becky's life. Through every season, both joyful and challenging, she trusted deeply in God's guidance and grace. Becky was known for her kindness, humility, and willingness to serve. Whether through prayer, encouragement, or acts of quiet generosity, Becky reflected a living faith that brought comfort and hope to many. She found strength in worship and joy in sharing God's love with others.

The family will receive friends 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, December 19, 2025 at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held 11:00am, Saturday, December 20, 2025. Interment will follow in Powhatan Community Cemetery.
