Richard Duane Groome

Richard Duane Groom, 52, of North Chesterfield, passed away November 11, 2025. Richard is preceded in death by his father; Charles H. Groome Jr., his brother David W. Groome; step-father Clyde P. Mitchell; and his step-brother Michael Mitchell. Richard is survived by his son, Nathan Groome (Johannah); mother, Cleo Dale Mitchell; sister-in-law, Cheryl Groome; Aunt, Sheila Bowlin; and cousin Ray Bowlin (Kim); second cousins Olivia Bowlin and Doug Womeldorf. Richard was also survived by his girlfriend Donna Smiley; step-sisters, Amy Boothe and Melanie Bradley. Richard was a dedicated Philip Morris employee 12 plus years of service. Richard was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races with his son Nathan. He also loved fishing and visiting the Eastern Shore. A graveside service will be held Sunday November 16, 2025 at Red Lane Baptist Church Cemetery at 2095 Red Lane Rd. Powhatan VA. 23139 at 2PM. A celibration of life will be held at a date to be announced.
