Rita Slayton

Rita Faye Tench, 68, of Powhatan, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday August 22, 2023.

She is survived by 3 children, a brother, 4 nieces, 4 grandchildren, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews. Rita had a passion for plants, she loved to sew and make jewelry, and collect anything with owls. Her room was full of plants and owl trinkets.

The family wishes to thank the Amelia Nursing home for taking such good care of her and the Amedisys Hospice team for making her transition into to heaven graceful and with dignity.

Her family loves her, and she will be greatly missed.
