Robert Lee
Malcolm, Jr.
Mar 26, 1961 — Jul 9, 2026
Sunday
May Memorial Church
3:00 - 6:00 pm (Eastern time)
Robert Lee Malcolm Jr., of Powhatan Va left us to reunite with his Daddy and other family members in Heaven on Thursday July 9, 2026. He is survived by his Mom, Dorothy Malcolm Adams; wife, Lori Malcolm; sons, Robert (Bobby) Malcolm (Becky), Johnathan Malcolm (Brittany); bonus sons, Austin Edwards (Dominque), Steven Edwards (Cierra) and Logan Edwards; his grandchildren, Karleigh, Blake, Riley, Addison, Ryan, Josie, Henry, Sophia, Holly and David.
Robbie was a man of faith, he used his talents thru the years to serve GOD, behind the scenes and in the spotlight. He enjoyed music and played drums in church and outside venues. He worked hard and played hard. He did everything from flip burgers, small engine repair, underground electric power install to hauling liquid lime in a tanker truck. As the T-shirt his grandkids gave him says “If Poppy can’t fix it we are screwed.”
He enjoyed spending time with his wife, playing darts, cards, racing, football and riding his motorcycle, and was blessed to share the love with his boys. He loved nature and lived life in it – working and playing. He enjoyed years of hunting with family and friends. Robbie loved enjoying meals with friends and family and his cup of coffee in the am and pm. Most recently his love for the water became his peace and serenity. His greatest love was teaching his grandchildren to fish and getting them in his lap to teach them how to navigate the boat. Just sitting on the back porch of his get a way paradise place in Grandy NC brought him joy beyond words.
However, Robbiee would say, his greatest accomplishment was his boys, watching them teach and guide their children on the journey ahead, bought him a sense of pride that he had done a good job because they are great fathers. His smile and positive outlook brought him friends from his everyday walk, he never met a stranger.
The family will receive family and friends on Sunday July 26th from 3 to 6 at May Memorial Church located at 3922 Old Buckingham Rd Powhatan Va 23139 for a Celebration of Life ceremony, followed by a sweet treat in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Powhatan Fire and Rescue, St Judes or an organization of your choice.
Gone Fishin’
I’’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea
Please send along my fishing pole
For I’ve been invited to the fishing hole
Where every day is a day to fish
To fill up your heart with every wish
Don’t worry or feel sad for me
I’m fishing with the master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile,
That wont be as long you will see
Till were together you and me
To all of those that think of me
Be happy as I go out to sea
If others wonder why I’m missin’
Just tell ‘em I’ve gone fishin’
