Robert "Mark" Swineford

Robert “Mark” Swineford, 62, of Powhatan, was called home by Jesus on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. Mark was well-known in the community as the owner of both Premier Septic Services and Premier Limousine Services. Additionally, many know him from his time traveling and performing with the gospel quartet, Calvary’s Mercy, and the gospel band, Just Us. Those who had the privilege of knowing Mark will remember his kindness, generosity, humor, reliability, beautiful singing voice, and strong love for his family. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and the space left in his absence is one that can never be filled.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Swineford, and his best friend, Mark Llewellyn. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Tracy; his siblings Judy Juett (Greg), Linda Ralston (Charlie), and Charlene Smith; his cherished children, Jordan Swineford-Johnson (Anthony) and Bailee VanNess (Kurt); and his beloved grandchildren, Havenn, Dawson, Grayson, Collins, and Hayes. Mark’s love for the Lord was evident in the way he cared for and connected with others. He was a devoted husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend whose memory will be treasured always.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, September 29, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home in Powhatan.
