Obituary

Robin Carol Cowick passed away on April 6th 2026, at 61 years young at the St Mary's Hospital in Virginia, surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous fight with cancer. She will be forever missed and remembered for her zest of life, having a sharp wit, fiery spirit & boundless love for all. Everyone who encountered her loved her too.

Robin is survived by her devoted Husband, Tommy Buckmaster; & beloved mother, Carol Ann Marvin; and beloved Father, Richard Allen Marvin. Her cherished children, Jessica Marvin and Ryan Cowick; and step children, Jessica Cowick, Jason Cowick, Shannon Cowick; & precious grandchildren, Lettie & Teagan Cowick, Aminha Cowick, Alexis Cowick, Ly'Asia Cowick. Her adored Brothers and sisters, Julie Eddleton, Chris Brady/Marvin, Doug Marvin, Andrew Marvin, Cassidy Marvin, Mathew Marvin, Victoria Cox and Michael Marvin.

She devoted herself to being the best mother, wife, sister and Nana. She was born in Paris France October 2nd 1964, because of her father's service in the army but quickly came back to the usa where she grew up traveling with her parents until she settled in VA. Later graduated at Ried Ross senior High school in 1983. Started a family in 1986 and just blossemed into the amazing women we all know today. She was the ray of sunshine everyone knew and took pride in being kind, on time, and always presentable. Her free time later after her kids grew up she enjoyed planting and adventures. She loved camping & music and just getting away for a nice weekend trip anywhere as long as she was with her best friend and husband Tommy Buckmaster.

It's hard to sum up your mother's life in just a few words. I could easily write a book on what an amazing person she was. She was a half glass is full and always looked for the positiveness in life. She was that picture perfect person. Robin absolutely loved and took pride in her job of 20 years at Commonwealth oral and facial surgery where she devoted herself and time making sure the team of doctors where taken care of and coordinating events and later took the roll of patient coordinator where she enjoyed seeing and helping every patient who walked through those doors.

Robin Cowick will be deeply missed but her light will shine in our memories & in the love we carry forward. She has her wings now and heaven is blessed to have the most kind person who has ever been.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Condolences can be made at bennettbardenfh.com.
