Ross Neal Simmons

Ross Neal Simmons, 77, of Midlothian, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Rev. James Phineas Simmons and Rubie Benetta Carter Simmons. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Lee Simmons; and his sister, Norma Jean Hager. 

He is survived by his daughter, Carrie Simmons Scott and her husband, Michael, of Moyock, NC; son, Brian Neal Simmons of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, Haley McGregor and her husband, Kyle, of Maple, NC, and Landon Potts of Moyock, NC; brother, Furman Ray Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Ross Simmons was a proud military veteran having served his country in the United States Airforce. After his time in the military, he worked for Dodge in the service department, retiring after many years. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, bass fishing, camping, and watching NASACR and football. He will dearly missed by his family and friends. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Powhatan United Methodist Church, 2253 Rosson Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139.
