Russell Lewis Bowles

Russell Lewis Bowles, 75 of Farmville, went to be with our Lord Jesus October 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by parents, Russell and Helen Bowles; two sons, Eddie and Jamie Bowles and one brother-in-law, James "Doc" Lawson. He is survived by his sisters, Gladys Preas (Noland), Catherine Kirkland (James), Frances Lawson, Judy Lawson (Phil), Joyce Davila (Oscar); many nieces, nephews and a very special friend, Edna Tyree. Lewis was very proud to have served in the US Army National Guard from 1967-1971. He requested that everyone know that he was a devoted fan of the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held Monday at 5 p.m. in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy.(Rt.60), with the family receiving friends afterwards.
