It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Stephen Michael Clark on May 8, 2026, at the age of 34.
Stephen was born on June 29, 1991, to Michael and the late Page Clark. He worked as a lineman with Lee Electrical, where he was respected for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help anyone who needed it.
Stephen lived life to the fullest and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping, and spending long days outside. He especially enjoyed searching for arrowheads and felt most at peace in nature. He lived life as an adventure-always getting into something, always on the move, and always bringing others along for the ride. Time with Stephen was never boring.
Stephen had a rare gift for making people feel welcome and included, and he could light up any room he walked into. He was known as a great teacher and would always help anybody that needed it. He was always smiling, always laughing, and his love for life was contagious. He gave the best back-breaking hugs and had a way of leaving everyone he met in a better mood than before.
Stephen is survived by his father, Michael Clark; his sister, Lacy, her husband, Matt, and their son, Liam; his best loyal companion, his dog Bucky; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and his many close friends who were like family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Page Clark.
The Family will receive friends and loved Friday May, 15, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in The Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, and where a Celebration of Stephen's life will be held Saturday at 11:00 am. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hobson's Chapel, P.O. Box #332, Powhatan, VA 23139. In respect to Stephen, please dress casual.
To be loved by Stephen was a true privilege. Above all, he loved deeply and wholeheartedly, and that love will continue to live on in those who knew him. We hope Stephen can now rest peacefully, and his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
