Sue Allen Hudnall Davis

Sue Allen Hudnall Davis 78, of Powhatan, departed this life on September 14, 2023. She was preceded by her parents Bertrand Denzler Hudnall and Sue Allen Hudnall, and very loved and devoted cousin, Susan Weisse Anderson.

She is survived by three sons, Richard Sterling Davis Jr of Macon, N.C. , Jeffrey Hudnall Davis (Nicole) of Charleston S.C., and Jason Ryland Davis Sr. (Cheryl) of Powhatan. Eight very much loved grandchildren, Elizabeth Christina Davis, Abigail Lauren Davis, Brendon William Clark, Jason Ryland Davis Jr., Hailey Anne Davis, Jackson Robert Davis, Lillian Grace Davis, and Caleb Allen Davis.  As well as a beloved cousin Bertrand Ryland Hudnall II of Charleston , SC.

Sue is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. B. Ryland Hudnall of Covington, Virginia originally of Reedville Virginia, as well as Mr. and Mrs. George Allen of Lee County Virginia.

Sue was born in Richmond Virginia on March 22, 1945 at St. Luke's hospital. She taught high school for 30 years, 10 years at Patrick Henry High School in Hanover and 20 years at John Marshall High School in Richmond. 

She was a life long member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Sue loved spending time with and was devoted to her grandchildren, as well as her students. She loved gardening, antiquing with her cousin, and spending time with Casper her grand dog that she borrowed from her son. 

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 2 - 3:00 PM in the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home Chapel. A service will follow at 3:00 PM.
