Virginia Ellen Lambert

Virginia "Ginny" Lambert, 91, of Powhatan went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 16, 2023.  She was born March 24th, 1931, in Nickelsville, VA, to the late James and Emily Beaver Collins. Ginny was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she was a woman of faith and compassion. She retired from the Powhatan County School system following twenty years of preparing and serving hot meals for the students and staff she loved. Ginny loved to work in her flower garden, drink coffee with her family and friends and above all cook and watch people eat, you did not leave her home hungry. In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband Henry "Jack" Lambert, her siblings, Willie Collins, Goldie Horn, Carl Collins, Hughie Collins, Ralph Collins, Blanard Collins, Bonnie Harris and Lucille Peters and her beloved "adopted son" Watson "Watty" Lyon. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted son, Kenney Lambert, daughter in law Cindy Lambert, only grandson Ronnie Lambert, brother Ed Collins, several nieces and nephews and multiple friends and neighbors that are considered family. The family would like to thank, Donna Rowan, Inez Poe and Teresa Davis, for the love and support over the last years of Ginny's life. The family will receive friends 11:30-1:00 pm Friday at Bennett and Barden in Powhatan Virginia. Where her Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
