William Glenn Lawman - " The man who never met a motor or engine he could not make run." Born, March 2, 1956, in Richmond, VA to William Edward and Mary Elizabeth Lawman. He was predeceased by both parents. Glenn passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026 from complications from diabetes.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Timberlake Lawman; brothers, Robert (BoB) Lawman (Susan) and Eric Lawman (Trish).Glenn proudly served his country in the Army, with the 1097th Transportation Company in the Panama Canal and with the Army National Guard. He was with Company A-Unit of the 276th Engineer Battalion in Powhatan, VA (Currently the 180th Engineer Battalion)

Glenn was a member of the Powhatan United Methodist Church. He was a longtime member of the Volunteer Fire Department, Company 1. He was an integral part of keeping the fire trucks running during the 1970s-1990s. Even living next door to the firehouse for a while, when the siren at the station went off, (before pagers) he would race to the firehouse and get the trucks started in preparation for additional members to arrive and drive them to the fire. He would usually drive the tanker truck. Glenn retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections in Powhatan, VA as a Power Plant Lead Worker. 

Glenn inherited his love for motors and engines from his Dad and made this his lifelong career until his death. Marrying into a farming family, one of his specialties was farm tractors and equipment. Everyone knew that, just by looking at his yard. He was always so proud to show off his restored tractors in the Powhatan Labor Day Parades.Throughout Glenn's life, he was a quiet, loving soul. He made many friends through the Guard, Fire Department and his work. The family would like to Thank those friends and family members who helped Glenn throughout his life and especially his last years. Even though Glenn was somewhat of a Loner, h was not alone at the end.

 A Family service will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Amelia, VA. A Celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
