Winston C. Martin

Winston C. Martin, 85, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away January 21, 2026. He was born September 6, 1940 in Richmond, Virginia. He started his lifelong career in the trucking industry at Archie Motor Freight. After AMF closed in 1968, he went to work for Blue and Grey Transportation as an OTR driver. He was quickly promoted to the lead shop foreman, where he remained until he retired at age 72. He loved driving tractor trailers, working with his hands, and doing body & fender work. He also enjoyed boating and fishing and "The River Life". He spent almost every weekend on the water. In 1990 he and his wife built their retirement home on the water at Lake Gaston.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Patsy Jean Martin; his father, Walter C. Martin;his mother, Lucille Barden Martin; his sister Patricia Ann Parrish. He was survived by his three daughters, Cindy Pearce (Fred), Jenny Laughon (Keith) and Tammy Martin (Scott); son, Curtis Martin; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23836. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Dementia Society of America.
